Glacier Point

On my weekend on Yosemite I enjoyed two chances to spend an evening at Glacier Point, high above the Yosemite Valley in Yosemite National Park:

My first evening at Glacier Point suffered from boring, cloudless skies. This did not prevent the tourists from flocking to the site in order to gape at and take snaps of Half Dome while the last rays of the sun tickled its granite sides:

I had better luck on my second evening. Still plenty of tourists, but this time the skies were decorated with clouds:

It’s a long way down to the valley floor from Glacier Point:

Looking toward the west, one saw a fairly nice sunset:
