Day Trip to Oregon Coast 1: Battery Point Lighthouse

Last Saturday I ventured further north up the Oregon coast than I ever had before, making it all the way to Bandon, before turning back to go home. The trip look like this:
I started off at 5 in the morning. I made it to Crescent City about an hour before sunrise. I could see some clouds to the west over the Battery Point Lighthouse, which seemed to promise the opportunity, after many years, of finally getting a decent dawn/sunrise shot of the most attractive lighthouse on California’s northcoast. So I wandered a bit of the way out on the jetty to the east of lighthouse:
From here, I could get some real nice shots of the lighthouse, a few even with the moon:
And here’s one of the surf coming in:
