Crater Lake sans Clouds

I spent Labor Day weekend at Crater Lake National Park in southern Oregon. Only one of the three days I was there featured skies with clouds. The other two days were entirely and depressingly cloudless. Clouds not only decorate skies and allow for more interesting color at sunrise and sunset, but they also improve the color for the overall scene. The following images were taken sans clouds at Crater Lake:

While these images are not bad, when compared to images shot with clouds (which I will show in my next post), they are decidedly inferior.
