Exploring the Northcoast 1: Patrick's Point

The northcoast of California, stretching north of San Francisco to the Oregon border, is a land rich in beauty, with towering, fog enveloped redwood forests and windswept beaches laced with towering rock formations and picturesque bluffs. The most spectacular, and least known, section of the northcoast runs from Shelter Cove in the south to Crescent City in the north. One of the most stunning locations along the northcoast is Patrick’s Point State Park, a few odd miles north of Trinidad. It’s a particularly rocky stretch, with boulders, cliffs, seastacks reaching out into the sea. Below is the western mid-section of the park. The large rock formation reaching toward the sea on the right in Patrick’s point; the large rock below and to the left of it is Wedding Rock.
