Evenings at Moonstone Beach

Moonstone Beach is one of those little known places along California’s north coast that is not very well known (except by the local populace) but which, in terms of scenic impact, punches well above its weight. Part of the reason it can be so attractive is that the so-call “Little River” flows into the beach, providing, often, a wide expanse of water which, on tranquil autumn evenings, reflects the cloud enriched skies:

Coming from the south on Highway 101, Moonstone Beach is reached from exit 726A, accompanied by two lefts and a right:

Depending on where the river places itself (it tends to shift around a bit), the river will sometimes flow among immense rocks and boulders, providing excellent subject for photography on a late afternoon:
