Mohu Emerges (Briefly)

This last Sunday, late in the morning, Stella (see above), the female Red Panda resident at Sequoia Park Zoo in Eureka, California, emerged from her den and went for a stroll. Much to her surprise, someone wanted to come with. “Mohu,” Stella’s daughter, peaked out from behind the curtain:

Mohu waddled outside, caused her mother to immediately return to the den:

Very briefly, Mohu was left outside all by herself:

But then Stella reached out and grabbed her little one:

And pulled Mohu back in the den:

For whatever reason, Stella did not want Mohu to be outside quite yet. Meanwhile, Sumo, Mohu’s father, watched the proceedings with mild, almost disdainful, interest:
