Infrared Redwoods on the Eel River

In my last post, I focused on visible light images of redwoods rising along the Eel River in southern Humboldt County. In this post, I want to concentrate on images of the same type, only this time shot with an infrared-converted camera. Since infrared light is invisible to the naked eye, these images have been interpreted through the magic of digital photography as either “false color” or black and white. To begin with, let’s start with a color and black and white of the same image:
